The foundation of XARTIC

You must be curious of what this club is all about. Well, for starters, this club is about ART. To summarize this is by telling our aim and objectives.

Aim:

Exposure for Bruneians

Objectives:

Increasing the standard of Art in Brunei

Voicing out new ideas for Art as well as making the new ideas into reality

Developing Art skills

Developing in confidence

Other than that, this club is freedom and fun!!! Which makes it even more interesting

Why the name of the art club is Xpressionists Art Club or Xartic?

“Xpressionists” came from the word Expressionists but got inspired from the word Expressionism. This name is actually found by Idraki Indzar (Assistant leader of the club) after a few months thinking of the best name for the club. The club was actually named BAC (Brunei Art Club) but we decided that the name ‘Brunei’ is like too big for our club and decided to change the name to something else instead.

We would like to use Brunei as the name of our club but our club is not really approved by the government and do not have any sponsors yet. This is also one of the reasons why we decided to change the name of the club.

We had actually lots of names for the club but then most of the names are not suitable and not really creative enough. The art club is also known as “Xartic” the short form for the club so people can pronounce it easily rather than saying it fully all the time.

Idraki was actually listening to some of the old songs and that got him thinking that those songs are expressed feelings through song lyrics with different types of music beats. He thought that since emotions and feelings can be expressed through songs it can also be expressed in art so the word ‘Expression’ came to him and thought of ‘Expressionists’ that he used to study when he was still doing his Art A level courses. In addition, this club is not just about expressing feelings and emotions but it can also express our ideas and thinking through ART.

Now that the club is running in progress, we are hoping for the club’s success and will keep on and last long in Brunei. Hopefully with this name we can create a better place for Art in Brunei and it can pursue its aim and objectives in the near future. Hopefully with this name, the club will get a sponsorship as well so that this club can survive in a very long time.

This is Nabil with kids surrounding him looking at his sketch of the view he was looking at. See how supportive and amazed the kids were.

U-di taking water from part of the pond. He was doing acrylic painting..if I'm not mistaken

Idraki poses holding a long vine. Nabil said he looked like a Vietnamese that got chase by dogs. I wonder why?! Talking about Idraki, while doing his work by taking photographs with Khairi. He fell from a hill because he was frightened the big barking dogs. He ran and fell. Now I think you know why Nabil said said i was like a Vietnamese chased by dogs.

The day that he fell.

The day after he fell. However he thought differently. He said that he was doing his work "for the love of art" and it was worthed because he did take some good quality photographs. You will see it at the exhibition in June.

So that's all folks..Thanks for reading. we'll see you at the exhibition.

Assalamualaikum!
